The second reason I die is incorrectly guessing whether what I’m experiencing is an event, which means I should drop an item and scramble to pick up a camera for a ghost pic, or a hunt.īoth of the reasons I die are exasperated by one thing - early hunts.I usually move crucifixes into the building around 3rd or 4th haul and right before “smudge kits” as we call them (lighter + two smudges). Essentially I use them to “block off” sure-death hunt locations. A way I mitigate positioning issues is using the two crucifix to prevent the ghost from starting hunts in dangerous spots.Another example is getting trapped near the entrance of the school where sight lines are near infinite. If the ghost spawns/hunts behind me trapping me with only their room to hide in. I only really die for two reasons now.
#RAIJU PHASMOPHOBIA UPDATE#
I only play on Nightmare, so maybe take this with a grain of salt, but my experience with dying in hunts after the new update is as follows: It's only scary when you are caught out in the open with nowhere to break LoS - which is probably your own fault anyway. You turn a corner/abuse LoS and the rev is done - they won't catch you up again and you have plenty of time to hide or make another LoS break. The Revenant doesn't hunt early, usually meaning you are ready for it and likely have smudge sticks. The Raiju searches it three times over before the hunt is done just because of how much ground it can cover.

If you jumped into a sideoom with nowhere to hide, just hoping the ghost doesn't randomly roam inside? You're dead - any other ghost might stop hunting before roaming there. Considering you dropped all your equipment in the ghost room, it is dummy fast to pursue you when the hunt starts as well.

Early hunts, coupled with a major surprise factor with its speed when you dont know what it is - and then to top it all off, the speed of its standard search pattern on high difficulties makes it search more rooms a huge amount more than any other ghost. I think Raiju is easily the most dangerous ghost now.
